This activity was started in the year 2004 in partnership with NABARD( National Agriculutural Bank For Rural Development) and Tamilnadu watershed Development Agency. So for four watersheds have been treated and nearly 4 crores have been spent towards implementing various integrated watershed activities in 16,304.84 hectares.

Child Labour Programme

In India, millions of children are forced into child labour due to poverty, high illiteracy rates due to lack of education, unemployment, overpopulation, etc. As reported by Save the Children, children between the ages of 14 - 17 years engage in hazardous work and account for 62.8% of India's child labour workforce in which more boys than girls (38.7 million vs. 8.8 million) are forced into doing more hazardous work. Child labour used to be most ubiquitous in rural India in which 80% of working children found work. GSS strives to Education and Rehabilitation of Working Children in the Interior Villages of Tamil Nadu.

GSS evolved a state level network of NGOs who were addressing The objective of the Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization Project for India to enhance productivity and climate resilience of irrigated agriculture.

We amalgamate the watershed women and form Self Help Groups. We help them financially by giving loans up to 4.00 lakhs / Group repayable @ 12% annual interest.
